Every one of these trainee is capable of performing ECCE and IOL procedures with extreme competence. More than 30 surgeons have been trained, and they are working in our centers in Pakistan & abroad and participating in outreach service activities around the world. This training is conducted at Al-Ibrahim Eye Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan under the leadership of Professor M. Saleh Memon, who formerly was national co-coordinator for Prevention of Blindness program in Pakistan.

Vitreo-Retinal Training Program
From July 1998, we have established a vitreo-retinal center at Al-Ibrahim Eye Hospital, Karachi for on-job training of medical doctors in this area. Extreme dearth of vitreo-retinal surgeons and ever increasing rate of vitreo-retinal diseases in this part of the world has prompted us to develop this service.

Overseas Scholarship Program
We have granted partial support to three candidates for their training in Community Ophthalmology at the Institute of Ophthalmology, London leading to Master's Degree in Community Ophthalmology. Two of them are Pakistani nationals and one is a Somali.

Technicians Training Program
Seven years ago we established one year technician training program with the collaboration of Sindh Medical Faculty. We continue to take around 20 candidates every year in this program. More than 100 ophthalmic technicians have successfully completed the training who are serving with us and other institutions.

Stipends
We provide stipends to the trainees and absorb them in our setup as far as possible.
