Ophthalmologist by profession; he graduated from Liaquat Medical College in 1971; received his training at various hospitals in United Kingdom and was elected fellow of Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland in 1988.
He worked in Military Hospital in Riyadh for 8 years. Presently, he is professor and chairman of Department of Ophthalmology at Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Hyderabad; currently serving as a Member of the Syndicate of Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences. He has several publications in national and international journals.
He pioneered establishment of Hyderabad Chapter of Ophthalmology Society of Pakistan, has served as its president and secretary general, now elected as President of Ophthalmology Society of Pakistan (OSP) center. He is recipient of the Syed Ramzan Ali Award in Ophthalmology. He is a founding member of Isra Islamic Foundation and currently serving on its Board of Directors.
