A civil engineer with more than 40 years of experience in engineering practice, teaching and supervising theses at the under and post-graduate levels, and research and development in Pakistan, the United States, Libya and Saudi Arabia. He held senior teaching positions in NED Engineering College, Karachi, AI-Fateh University, Libya and King Saud University, Riyadh. He also taught at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas. He specializes in computational methods for analysis and design of institutional and residential structures in reinforced concrete, masonry and steel; forensic engineering and retrofitting of structures; seismic design of buildings; and analysis and design of transmission towers.

He has expertise in development of reinforced concrete building design criteria, and evaluation of seismic risk and development of seismic design criteria for buildings, and extreme value analysis for development of design wind speed over a region. He is winner of "meritorious technical paper" and "noteworthy contribution to civil engineering" awards from ASCE. He has published more than 20 technical papers in international journals. He is fellow of Institute of Engineers Pakistan, member of ASCE and ACI and founder member of ACECOMS.

His major engineering achievements inside and outside Pakistan include, analysis and design of several projects of large and small size. He has engaged in several projects on distress evaluation of concrete structures and their rehabilitation. Besides Isra Islamic Foundation, he was involved in several other social welfare, healthcare and educational organizations in various capacities on voluntary basis. Presently, he is holding the position of Secretary General in Isra Islamic Foundation, and that of Director, Research, Extension & Advisory Services, and Controller of Examinations in Isra University. He is a founding member of Isra Islamic Foundation and currently serving on its Board of Directors.
